Is Snoop Dogg really NFT collector Cozomo de’ Medici? Did he really put up for sale Cryptopunk #3831 due to Bored Apes flipping CryptoPunks in floor price?

One of the most famous NFT collectors is Cozomo de’ Medici, a reference to the wealthiest man who ruled Florence during the Renaissance and who was a patron to artists. On OpenSea, Cozomo de’ Medici has over 450 NFTs.
On Sep. 20, 2021, Snoop Dogg tweeted “I am @CozomoMedici.” Many took that tweet as true.
However, from my quick review, it doesn’t appear Snoop Dogg himself ever confirmed it.
Nitish Pahwa of Slate casts doubton the claim that Snoop Dogg is Cozomo de’ Medici. Pawha offers two theories: “(1) that [singer/rapper] Russ is Medici; or 2) that Cozomo isn’t famous but is a kind of ‘asset manager for celebs’ including Snoop, Derulo, and others, as a comment on the Ethereum subreddit theorizes.”
In any event, Cozomo de’ Medici made BIG news. He put CryptoPunk #3831 on sale for 6969 ETH ($27,441,970.68 USD). You can buy it by clicking here.
What was the reason? The tweet said: “I’m extremely torn about this, but apes flipping punks today has forced my hand. I will be selling Cryptopunk # 3831, the original Cozom, origin of Cozomo de’ Medici, which started it all. So long old fren. You will be missed.”
Not sure what the connection between the Bored Apes flipping the CryptoPunks is (meaning having a higher floor price for the most recent lowest price sale). The floor price tells us nothing about the prices commanded at the high end of a collection of 10,000 NFTs. (Check out my analysis.) It sounds more like a fake reason. And someone is playing with us and having some fun.
