Robert Mondavi partners with French porcelain house Bernardaud to sell 1,966 1.5-litre porcelain wine bottles with generative art NFTs

  • Exciting news from the world of wine! Robert Mondavi will be creating special-edition wines in porcelain bottles designed by the famed French porcelain house Bernaudaud.
  • That’s not all. The wines will come with generative art NFTs, which were designed with consultation with Gary Vaynerchuk, the entrepreneur and creator of Vee Friends.
  • The NFTs for the wines called MCMLXVI (meaning 1966, the year Mondavi was founded) go on sale for $3,500 on Dec. 15. The wines will ship in September 2022. [Decanter]

  • Other wines that have been sold with NFTs:
  • Yao Ming’s Yao Family Wines sold NFTs for 200 bottles of its 2016 The Chop Cabernet Sauvignon
  • Cult Wines and Bordeaux’ Chateau Angelus sold an NFT for ownership of a barrel of 2020 Angelus along with 3D artwork based on the Angelus label.
  • Hello Fam is an all-NFT wine brand that includes a Syrah Blend from Jezreel Valley winery in Israel.
  • The only question: which wineries will not be creating NFTs by 2022?
