NFTs continue to disrupt the music industry. Snoop Dogg, a major collector of NFTs, announced that he not only purchased Death Row Records, the label that he first signed with, but he also will be transforming DRR to be the “first major in the metaverse.”
Music producer Timabaland announced back in November 2021 his creation of Ape in Productions, an entertainment company using Bored Ape NFTs to create music and videos for the metaverse.
It may well be that the 21st century music label is one that revolves around producing content for the metaverse, with the sale of NFTs a big part of the revenue stream.
