- An investor of NFTs who goes by the handle “Pranksy” reportedly bought an NFT Pranksy thought was sold by the famous artist Banksy. (Someone should write a poem next.)
- The purchase was for 300 ETH ($336,000) on a now-deleted webpage of banksy.co.uk.
- After the sale, Banksy’s representative told the BBC that the NFT wasn’t affiliated with Banksy: “The artist Banksy has not created any NFT artworks.”
- But then, after media outlets started reporting the sale, Pranksy said the ETH he paid was returned.
- Is truth stranger than fiction? Or is this a clever ruse? Has anyone confirmed that Pranksy is not Banksy?
