- Prada and Adidas announced an exciting new NFT project. The “holders of adidas Originals Into the Metaverse NFTs” are invited to put their name on a waitlist. From the waitlist, Prada/Adidas will select 3,000 people to submit photos or digital art to a collaboration art project with artist Zach Lieberman.
- Using the more environmentally friendly Polygon network, 3,000 NFTs will be minted from the art submissions.
- Then Lieberman will create a large-scale artwork from all the contributions.
- Then the artwork will be auctioned on SuperRare on Jan. 28.
- Then all participants will share in the revenue from the auction sale. “The proceeds from the auction sale will be split, with 80% donated to Slow Factory, a non-profit, 5% to Zach Lieberman, and 15% shared between all participants who created a tile (after auction fees).”
- As Prada and Adidas describe it:
- “As an interactive, dynamic platform, the project enables the community to contribute to a large scale artwork through play and discover the transformative benefits of web3, co-creation, digital ownership and NFTs.
- “The project facilitates the education of new communities from art, fashion, and beyond — while rewarding participants for their creation with a share of the final artwork auction sale.”
- This is another example of what I call De-Collab, or decentralized collaboration. De-Collab facilitated by NFTs will become a standard feature of Web3. To learn more, download my paper on De-Collab in the Bored Ape business model.
